Big Brothers Big Sisters of West Island is committed to providing mentorship to local youth in the West Island of Montréal. The area is mostly English-speaking and more suburban compared to central Montréal, which means that access to youth services can often be more limited.

Many families live farther from city-based resources, and transportation barriers can make it harder for young people to connect with supportive programs. That’s why dedicated, local mentorship programs like us are essential- to ensure every young person in the West Island has someone to turn to, close to home.

  • More than 32,000 children across Canada benefit each year from Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring relationships.

  • Youth with a mentor are 60% more likely to feel consistently happy, 45% more likely to feel confident, and 50% more likely to have strong social connections.
